Stepmania makes both .sm and .dwi files for simfiles so that the simfiles you make in Stepmania are both compatible for Stepmania itself, and Dance With Intensity, another DDR simulator.

Making a song is pretty simple:

1) Go to C:/Program Files/StepMania/Program.
2) Open the "smpackage" file.
3) Click Make New Song.
4) Follow instructions.
5) Enter StepMania, and go to Edit Songs/Courses.
6) Select the simfile you're making, select difficulty, and select Make Song.
7) Now you can edit the song.

stepmania is fun...just simply install the songs or put them in the stepmania folder

I opened stepmania and it gave me directions on how to do it and showed me how to play..then I couldnt exit out..what happened?
