So yeah, I stumbled over StepMania a week ago when searching up Tales of the Abyss stuff on YouTube. Saw a recording of Karma, and the rest is history. Love FFR, even though my computer lags on the faster stuff...
people get permission from the artists to use the songs on r1. usually they contact the band/artist on their site. is that what you meant? or what kind of 'game music' are you referring to?

Game music, as in video gaming - I saw things like Karma from Tales of the Abyss, etc.
Reason being that I'm working on a ToDII file (the opening to, with the video clip), and I don't know if I'd be allowed to post it here on the forums. It's not nearly good enough to be in FFR, but I'd like some feedback on how I'm doing.
Where would I post a thread for that, anyway? In the Music Game Simulators section?
EDIT: Nevermind, that was a stupid question. I think I understand now. Second part of the question holds, though - I don't want to put it in the database (because it really does need help), so where would I be able to post a thread? Or is databasing my only option?
EDIT 2: Is there any way that I can make it lag less, other than by reducing quality? I'm running Vista on a fairly new computer, and the notes are definitely not in time with the music...

Reason: Stupidity on my part.
To make it run better I can give you these advice; you must only run FFR when you play, use internet explorer (the newest version), if that's not working, turn the quality down, it doesn't make a big difference when you play, hum... oh and maybe you should use Vista, I heard rumors that it has a lot of bug. Maybe you should try Windows XP but I'm not very sure that Vista could make FFR lag. You should ask to an expert like Synthlight (the creator and owner of the site).

Fixed.

Placing it in the Simfile Database is the best thing to do, and well, if you want more downloads on it, you could go around FFR asking people to play it for you, and being nice about it. Just about anyone who is bored or with nothing else to do would enjoy it anyway, I would think. However, watch out for the jerks on this site as well, the ones who act elite, because there are tons of them, especially to someone who is new to the site.
Anywho, welcome, welcome, and all that stuff. Hope that helps a little.
