I'm not really a noob but this is a noob question...

now, all the experts play FFR, SM, and DWI mostly with 2 hands and 2 fingers (from what i've heard o_O). now, i've tried that, and i suck ALOT more than i do with 1 hand and three fingers. with 1 hand and three fingers i can pretty much do any song up to a very challenging difficulty. So heres the question. By means of 2 hands and 2 fingers, does that mean, 2 fingers per hand, OR 2 fingers as in 1 finger per hand. sorry for this real noobish question but im just kinda confused.

    RE: I

2 hands and two fingers means 1 finger per hand.

        RE: I

if you check out the main page there is a poll for style of play. it shows that MOST people play the way you do... 1 handed. using your index finger from each hand is known as indexes... some people play that way. others use both index and middle from each hand... thats 4 finger... those are the 3 main styles.

of the top 12-14 players, all but 1 play 4 finger. arch plays indexes. you have the best possibility of being very good all around by using 4 fingers on 2 hands, but its not comfortable for most people.

if you are just playing ffr/sm to have fun... stick with your style now. if your goal is to be elite, i'd recommend switching to 4 finger. some people don't want to switch or look at it as more of an accomplishment to play a harder way... its all up to you.
