Hey, I'm Piroteknix... and if you can't tell, I'm a n00b *.* I was browsing the internet one day and I stumbled across this site. I guess you could say I'm really not the athletic type (or the type to move from the computer screen XD) so I've never played DDR. This is my first experience with something like this, and I'd have to say I think I'm addicted! I'm sure you're all bored, so I'm just going to end this.

You have to have stepmania open to play the songs....and you hit enter on the song you want to play....

Aw, man! I know everyone is different, but for some reason if I mess up during a song, I completely lose track of the patterns and wind up losing! I feel so..... sucky!

Thats ok just keep practicing. You will eventually get better. Also, using speed mods helps. Like 2x-4x or C400 if it is a song without BPM changes.

BPM!? And the mods are locked-looking except for the effects, appearance, and dark :/

No, for stepmania, it is usually easier to hit arrows at faster BMP speeds, if you can read the faster BMP's. I'd recommend trying to find the fastest speed you can read comfortably on.

Ok, thanks, guys. I FINALLY figured out the stepmania thing. The only bad thing is that everything is a little too fast. What's a good song to start with?

I started out with "DoLL" and "DoLL Terra" ... but thats just me. Oh yeah, and Holloween. Just keep playing any songs, but change the difficulty to Light or Standard.
