I found this very helpful in terms of time management and organization.
Step 1
1. Prepare a study schedule.
2. Indicate the number of hours you need to sleep.
3. List the number of hours you are in a scheduled class.
4. Track your use of personal time, including
- travel to and from school,
- meal times,
- time spent on chores such as care of yourself and your living space.
5. Now you can schedule regular study periods every day.
6. Post your weekly schedule in plain sight in your study area
Step 2
Pre-read for coming assignments.
Spend 1 h/day reading the next class lesson to understand the topic convered.
Make study notes.
Step 3
Attend your classes.
Intend to learn something each class you attend.
Ask questions; it will help you learn.
Step 4
Take notes in class.
Review your notes the same day (or at least within 24 hours).
Edit your notes (add your study notes, draw diagrams, add colour etc.)
Step 5
Read the handouts.
Complete the worksheets.
Step 6
Write more than one draft of any report, essay, paper.
Do this preliminary writing as soon as the work is assigned.
Keep a hard copy of your draft in a safe place.
Step 7
Prepare for unit tests and exams.
Write definitions.
Make information sheets as reference.
Step 8
Write your test - have a positive attitude.
Keep calm, come to school on time on a test day.
