It's because the fact that genetically all "races" of humanity are actually the same race isn't readily apparant without a proper understanding of DNA which didn't happen until relatvely recently.

When you consider that you've got different species of animal whose only observable differences are the shape of a beak, or the size of a tail, a group of humans who have existed (so far as they know) in isolation, going to lands they didn't know existed and finding people who look dramatically different from them can hardly be faulted for making a fairly understandable mistake.

So what? You're in America right? I am not about to join the Marine Corps and risk my life for a country that tells you "you can't make threads about racism". Many Americans died so we can have the right of free speech and many more will die in the future protecting our freedoms. To not excercise this precious right is to insult their deaths and make them meaningless and honorless. Who cares if other people you don't know and will never meet hate your thread! You have an opinion, you have individuality, be proud of it! This isn't America, land of the slightly free.

Native north americans. If nothing else, the presence of the Washington Redskins in your country should have been a solid clue.

So what? You're in America right? I am not about to join the Marine Corps and risk my life for a country that tells you "you can't make threads about racism". Many Americans died so we can have the right of free speech and many more will die in the future protecting our freedoms. To not excercise this precious right is to insult their deaths and make them meaningless and honorless. Who cares if other people you don't know and will never meet hate your thread! You have an opinion, you have individuality, be proud of it! This isn't America, land of the slightly free.

1) You just WAY WAY overreacted to someone deciding to remove a thread.

2) This forum belongs to Synthlight, not to America, and you don't actually have free speech here except insofar as the rules here allow you to have free speech. Synth could demand that everyone post in rhyme or get a lifetime ban, and we'd have to do so.

3) As impressive as your dedication to your country is, a willingness to kill and die for your country doesn't automatically make your opinion the truth. It is still your opinion.

I don't watch sports, so the solidity of this "solid clue" can be debatable. Also, Native Americans looked more brown than red to me.

While I respect your opinion on the importance of our rights, I also disagree with them. Since this is a thread that requires free speech inorder to argue, you would think that people, while offended, would realize that this is critical thinking and he brought to light an important topic that should be debated. The gist of the rules of this forum seem to state "speak your mind, but be prepared to back up your words intelligently". That is, atleast what I got out of the rules, other interpretations may vary.

I didn't say my dedication to this country was so great that it made my opinions into truths, I merely brought up how I feel about the whole situation.

My issue wasn't that he should or shouldn't be allowed to say what he said, My issue was that he -decided- to remove the thread, and so going off on how his rights are being infringed seemed like an overreaction.

Maybe I'm a bit dense right now, bit of a cold or fever or whatever, but I don't see the relevance, I never made any analogies.

I have to admit, you got me there. But I think he didn't have to let himself be swayed. I guess when I read "I'm getting Pm's (please use the apostrophe to distinguish Pm's from P.M.S., or Premenstrual Syndrome) from people" I thought "he is getting rude Pm's from people", which was, of course an assumption. I could blame the misconception on my drowsiness from the nyquil I took, but I would rather take full responsibility for my statement, therefore I retract any rights violation statements I might have made. Though in my opinion this thread should stay. This is a very contraversial topic, therefore it is actually interesting.

Hopefully a bit overstated. Because, however, unlike the character represented in the description, this is the first time I ever brought up the fact I'm joining the military, ever, forum debate or just chit chat. I am not a militant-fascist forum nazi, but I can be passionate at times I admit. If you really think of me that way after one post, well I guess in the spirit of this argument I have to respect what you think, whether or not I agree.
