wow. That was pretty anticlimactic. Wait is this supposed to be religion-free?
my mom's an acupuncturist. that means she sticks needles in people to cure all types of things Western medicine can't do jack about. I guess i've had a few hundered needles stuck in me during my short lifetime

      Religion is allowed. Buddhism rocks.

But do you have anything else to add besides that?

Yeah, dude, wtf? Does this have a point or were we all too blinded by the pointlessness of it all that we missed it? This is critical thinking, for chrissakes.

Well, maybe he's asking for people's opinions on acupuncture. Does it work? Is it worth it? Et cetera.

Anyone who says "religion is bullshit" is being an intolerant bigot. You may not share the beliefs of the religious, but you must learn to accept that intelligent people believe in religion, and they have their reasons.

Religion is fair game like anything else. Read the "rules" thread.

w0rd up. beat me to saying it.

i'm gonna go with it was a random post about stuff. but, nevertheless... buddhism is a very respectable religion. if the majority of the people in the united states tried to at least adhere to some of the buddhist principles for life, our country would be a much better place. buddhism teaches peace, self analysis and tolerance (among other things)... all of which we could use more of. random fact: Buddha himself never really meant to start a religion.

as for acupunture, i know nothing about it. care to teach?

just stuff about it i guess. i know it involves needles and pressure points to relieve stress and whatnot... but what else does it entail?

So, since you're a buddhist, what are the core beliefs of Buddhism / why are you Buddhist.
