I completely agree that the whole thing was blown way out of proportion. What he said was disrespectful- I'm not saying that he said anything right. But I don't think he deserved to be fired for saying it. I think the team made a huge deal over what- one little insult? It almost seemed to me like it was more of a cry to get the team attention.
And another thing that get's me is the whole "equal rights" thing. They fired him because he was a white guy who made a racist comment about black women. What would they have done if it was a black guy who made the comment in the first place? I honestly don't think they would have made such a big deal out of it, and it's not right.
