After the fiasco with Osama, plus with Bush's public opinion dropping and the war in Iraq going nowhere, I'll bet they released it pretty damn soon after they caught and ID'd him. They'd want to show they caught someone, wouldn't they?

1) Saddam was found in a small hole in the ground, far from any sort of command bunker. It is unlikely that he was in any sort of control of resistance forces.

2) The media is greatly overreporting anti-Coalition activity. It is only small packets of resistance groups that hate us. The Iraqi people as a whole love us.
