    Re: Tube on Mars?

rofl... idk... i just kinda hate these sites that try to falsify crap to get ppl to think... i mean, its a nice pic, an interesting land mass, but to come along and say its tubing just so that we can debate over it (much like were doing now) is pretty lame

      Re: Tube on Mars?

they did have heiroglyphics of helicopters and planes There are some very strange hieroglyphics in the Temple of Osiris at Abydos. According to many UFO enthusiasts and Atlantis proponents, these glyphs depict highly developed crafts, specifically a helicopter, a submarine, some form of flying saucer, and a jet plane. What are these inscriptions all about? If the ancient Egyptians had vehicles such as helicopters, submarines, and jet airplanes, one would expect to find some evidence of this other than in a single inscription on the lintel of a single temple. This type of large machinery requires a vast amount of support (including fuel, parts, factories, etc.) but there is no trace of any such support in all of Egypt. The Egyptian literature is also bereft of any boast, much less passing mention, of advanced aircraft. Obviously this situation doesn't seem peculiar to those who really want to believe that the ancient Egyptians flew around in airplanes. link( http://www.catchpenny.org/abydos.html) hmmmmmmmmmmmmm....owned

I like that link Skyrunner. The best part is the image titled "Glyphs superimposed". It shows that the whole "Abydos Helicopter" myth is nothing more then a palimpsest. Funny how people really wants to think that there is/was something else out there that can/has rivaled our current technology, even surpassing what we have today, reguardless of a very rational, obvious explaination. I guess in a way, jumping to extreme conclussions in matters like this, makes the universe a smaller, less lonely place.

            Re: Tube on Mars?

Skyrunner, did you even read anything from the link that you posted? Seriously, that link is saying that the "Abydos Helicopter" is not a "Helicopter" at all, it is nothing more then a palimpsest (Palimpsest: a parchment or the like from which writing has been partially or completely erased to make room for another text.)

You do realize that this was practiced every often in Egypt, escpecially concerning writings from Seti I's reign as Pharoah. Ironically, your link states this very thing:

The text is part of the titulary of Ramesses II and can be translated as "The one of the Two Ladies, who suppresses the nine foreign countries." This replaces the royal titulary of Seti I that was originally carved into the stone. More technically, the actual "helicopter" seems to be a portion of the psd.t sign and the X3s.t sign on top of each other, with portions missing. An apparent change in scale also mucks things up.

I will ask you to logically answer the two questions that were asked in the quote you provided.

1: Why was there no evidence found to support a helicopter that this one single image dipicts; ie, fuel, parts, factory, anything to support the production of such an aircraft.

2: With such a major accomplishment such as a fly machine, why is Eygptian literature bereft, or void of any "other" mentioning of it. I would suspect that something of this magnitude would have more then one "image" tied to it.

Bull. I'm telling you. That site does not look one bit genuine. I mean, it's rediculous. Even if it is from Mars... the thought of something creating it, or it being glass is stupid. If there was life advanced enough to create it, all the robot crap that we've sent to Mars, would've found something.

                Re: Tube on Mars?

reighn is absolutely right... notice the chariot, a simple mode of transportation, is a re-occurring symbol in many egyptian depictions, yet a helicopter, which is very advanced technology, is mentioned once... if there was such thing as an ancient helicopter, would you not expect to see it more than once, in fact as or more often than the chariot???

Do you realize how foolish you sound? "we've would of found something" Just because some primitive robot was riding around for some time, you assume it had scoured the whole martian surface and underground and has found out everything?
For some reason thought of life existing on other planet puts you in denial or something? Just the evidence that there is still a lot of H2O on mars is already huge. Who is to say mars was barren in the past?

What I was saying is that if there's life advanced enough to create such tunnels, they would be able to do other things that are somewhat sophisticated. I wouldn't see any reason why they would only stay underground. I'm not shunning the idea of life on Mars. There very well could be. But this tube thing is a little unbelievable. I don't think that there is life that sophisticated on Mars. The site looks to be fake.
