Re: Why PC vs. Mac debates shouldn't exist
I use a mac at home, and a PC at school. There are things on both of them that i prefer/hate. On the mac, i hate that 1 button mouse that comes standard with the computer, (the keyboard is fine for me however, i just got a new Intel mac), problem solved by buying a logitech mouse. I also do not like the lack of a printscreen button, and the lack of UnrealEd on the Mac Version of UT2004. Other than that, my Mac fits my needs very well, Gaming and Artistic (Photoshop, Maya, 3D Studio Max, etc...). The PC also fits my school needs very well. It runs all of the Programs above, except the games, because its a school computer, but i can take the word of everyone else. PCs have a wider selection of games than the mac, they have a better command prompt, (i know windows code better than Unix XD). But, there are some things i do not like as well. Such as on the school computers, the system administrators locked everything up, so i can't access the uninstall feature. So when other people put loads of crap on the computer, i can't uninstall it without downloading something, because it puts files all over the place. Whereas in a mac, it puts it all into one place mostly, so you just have to delete one folder/application.
I have a preference for macs, but i really don't care which system i use.

and the configuration is a bitch for video cards.
The drivers ATI makes doesn't fully support OpenGL and the open source drivers aren't that good (other than the old cards, x1xxx isn't supported good
).
