I think the original riddle allows only one question asked, but no matter. UberMario already got it.

Think about it. The riddle doesn't ask you to figure out whether the man lies or tells the truth - only how to get to Truthville. Now, if you ask him where he's from and he tells the truth, he'll point to Truthville. If you ask him where he's from and he's a liar, he'll lie and also point to Truthville. And there you have it.

Ah, ok then. Well still, if this ever happens to me, I'll beat the hell out of the man and take my chances going one way, if not the right way, turn around and go the other lol.
