    Pope John Paul II: 1920-2005

You must have heard it by now whether you are christian or not. It doesnt matter. I am sitting in tech class right now and they have just announced it. Pope John Paul II is now officially pronounced dead. I am not a strong christian, but this still is very unfortuneate for the catholic people.

RE: Pope John Paul II Death

Just incase the news we heard it from were wrong, they have said that CNN has not independantly confirmed Italian media reports on the pope's death, but they are waiting for the complete confirmation from the Vatican.

Pope John Paul II of the tarantulas. Pope John Paul II of the preachers of death. You need to read "Thus Spoke Zarathustra" to understand my meaning.

If you're hell existed I would go to it.

RE: Pope John Paul II Death

I edited the topic of your post to make it a little less shocking, now that the reports of death have been turned down.

A sad day. Pope John Paul II is a great man, and a true force for peace in the world. People of all faiths will miss him.

I'll refrain from any comments I may have on this subject matter to minimalize CT flame wars.

Does the pope have his own hospital? Or is he in a bed right next to some random Italian dude.
Is his bed like his car? An enclosed box.

I'll leave you with those two thoughts.
                RIP

Sad, sure...but why is this in critical thinking?

I'm kind of surprised that the Cardinals John II has elected to vote on his successor are disagreeing so much; they might have a mini crisis on their hands.

Crisis nothing, whomever they select will be great, undoubtedly.

I'm Mormon, and we conflict with the Catholic Church on a lot of minor-ish things, but I'm not enough of a jackass to say "Good" like a lot of people this thread have so far.

The Pope is a great man. He's been a force of peace in the world today and done lots of good.

It's about time. I mean, he's a great guy, apologizing for the crusades and all, but famous people have to die sometime or we'd all get tired of them. The same goes for everybody. If you wish that people would not die and live forever, we'd all grow depressed about how all we hear is stories about how it was back in the day of 2010.
And Tass, his car is a Mercedes that I have never seen before, but it's blingin. Basically, there's a hospital in the Vatican, and it's most likely that he's got the best room in the place, as the country kind of revolves around him...

Why should this be a sad day? Those who are of his faith should be happy. Not happy that he is finally dying, but happy in that his life's service will finally come to an end and that he can finally meet God/Jesus whom he spent his life serving.

By that logic, Jewp, nobody would be sad when anyone died. Sure, there are better things to come for him, but it's still sad to see someone great die.

On top of that, it's someone who dedicated his life to improving the world and did a damn good job of it. C'mon, it sucks that people like John Paul II and Mother Theresa aren't around anymore.
