I say the egg because...a dinosaur laid an egg and then it kind of persay morphed into a chicken like creature...which evolved over time...

A dinosaur laid the egg. The egg was mutated and laid something that was like a dinosaur, but also like a chicken. Then the dinosaur/chicken mated with another mutated egg...creating more of their species and over time evolved to the chickens like the ones today.
