    What makes you happy?

I honestly can't think of anything that makes me happy.

I know there are a few things that bring me little pleasure, but it's always so fading. Doing well in some game, winning a little competition.. that's usually a nice quick upper, but the thing is, I'm just as likely to lose as win and that's just another thing that will bring me down if it happens.

Stupid jokes are okay, but honestly make me grin for a second or two and then I'm back to wishing I had whatever it is in my life I'm missing.

I believe in God. The funny thing is, having that knowledge doesn't seem to dispell anything lately. (Please don't go more into this, anyone that picks up this thread. I really don't feel like discussing the topic.)

I have a few friends. But just a few. And when I am actually able to hang around with them, I'm just as sad if nor worse off than before they came over.

I'm so confused. Maybe I should put this in my blog instead of here, but oh well. I'm gonna regret this. *click*

Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, and this* make me happy.

    * It's funnier if you minimize it and just listen to it.

I'm happy with my friends. Laugh about things we remember... and just smile.

Note: I chose not to use the ditto mark.

Watching a sunset makes me happy.

      Feeling healthy makes me happy.

      Sports make me happy.

Waking up energized at 4 am and going outside makes me happy.

      Watching fireflies makes me happy.

Riding a boat makes me happy, as long as the engine isn't running.

      Swimming makes me happy.

      Jogging makes me happy.

Being with my dog makes me happy.

      Surprises make me happy.

      Water makes me happy.

      Movies make me happy... sometimes.

      Jokes make me happy.

      Hugging/kissing etc make me happy.

Thank you for telling me to do something I'm already working towards and cannot achieve.

Besides, I'm willing to guess that anyone that gives that as advice has never had a girlfriend. If not all people, the majority of them.

When I look around, I have much more to be sad about than I do to be happy about. However, for the most part I am in between, not really happy or not really depressed.

There are these two guys that make me happy, their names are Jacob and Kyle.
My sister's baby makes me happy.
              My kitty makes me happy.
              Accomplishing something makes me happy.
....that's about it. :/ I really don't look for things to make me happy.

I think it just has a lot to do with a persons outlook. Most people wonder what I have to be happy about (which most the time appears to be nothing), but I always seem to be smiling.

It's the small things that make me smile.

I don't know what makes me happy either. Usually I'm happy if I get good feedback or think I did well on a poem or piece of artwork, if I do well in a game, or if I make my boyfriend happy. If I get good grades in school. If I take a good photograph. If I make a new friend.

Obviously there are other things. *cough* I'm sure someone is bound to mention them, so I won't bother.
C is for Charisma, it's why people think I'm great! I make my friends all laugh and smile and never want to hate!

What do you mean by happiness? Are you talking about the feeling you get after you do something correctly or well (good stimulus), a feeling of contentment when all your needs are fulfilled, or a feeling of joy from gaining something unexpected (like a free car from a raffle)? The first one is quite fleeting and you can never expect to keep it for long. The second is long lasting, but hard to achieve and often disrupted. The last can go on for quite awhile and be renewed easily (every time you drive the car), but can also be crushed easily (the car is a junker).

Contentment is the greatest happiness, the one that most people spend their entire lives striving for.

Then surely looking in the mirror doesn't.
