what do you think of my proposal to end homosexual discrimination referring to marriage:

instead of allowing homosexuals to marry, marriage being a religious construct created by the religious and for the religious, the powers that be should instead strip the status of being married of all social/welfare advantages, allow ANYONE to adopt or enter social contracts with each other, and ultimately leave marriage for the religious. (they came up with the idea of monogamy/"spousal ownership", they can keep it to themselves)

tl;dr/simplified: basically take all advantages of being married away from marriage so that homosexuals don't need to be married to achieve the same social/financial/familial standing as a married couple.
