It wasn't meant to be great. It was just something that happened to me today and out of curiosity i wanted to know about this kind of experience from other. Making a thread wanting questions answered and to interact with the community is the main reason for a forum on a site, is it not?

On topic: I haven't run out of gas myself. I've pushed it pretty close, and on vacation my dad was flipping shit because we were running low. Doesn't seem like a pleasant experience.

i can say i have never ran out of gas. my car has ran out of traction, and one time my friend ran out of concentration. both times ended in car accidents :/
i know i have been really close before though.

Ran out of gas while driving?

I did today on the way to the gas station. I was right in the middle of the road when I ran out too. It became a big ordeal. lol

This hasn't and hopefully will never happen to me. Let's just say that if you didn't make it to a gas station, your next fill-up will be an extraordinarily expensive one. Best way to ruin your day from the ordinary commute.

I ran out when I was 17 in my '74 HJ Premier Wagon. It was just before a corner, but the road dipped down and back up like a driveway. Was on a main road so I had to push it around the corner. Thankfully the closest petrol station was only a few blocks away.

However, not so thankfully...

• ~ For V8 engine, add 90lb (41kg)

My car weighed a ****ing tonne, and it was just me in it. Great time to be a giant mother****er ;D
