This has no direct correlation with SOPA, but part of me does wonder if the timing of this shutdown had to do with the "blackout" event that happened yesterday.
In any case, I'm wondering how much longer other popular file hosting sites like 4shared, Rapidshare, and Mediafire will have, since they all have bits of pirated content on their servers; they don't seem to be hesitant to bring down these sites, even if a majority of the content is legitimate. I personally can't understand the logic of bringing down a site where a very small portion of the material is violating DMCA laws -- it's ridiculous to pull something that could be holding personal content for many different people.
