It's a *lot* more than this. Do you know what his views are on everything else? Some of them are pretty radical/scary/completely insane.

Yeah Perry, because bigotry and religious nonsense is just what this country needs to move forward, and not ahead, amirite? Who reads history anyway!? 9_9

robertsona spreads the word, pt. 1: ron paul, rick santorum, bachmann, gingrich all signed a pledge that would only allow people w/ anti-abortion views to key government posts. Theyre Cool Guys

“To put rape or incest victims through another trauma of an abortion, I think is too much to ask.” - Rick Santorum (he literally said this)

Ron Paul seems the most feasible out of all these candidates. Bachmann and Perry are homophobic to the core, and Gingrich is a fucking scumbag, I'm sorry.

ron paul is also kind of a homophobe, but he actually believes in individual freedoms and 'all voluntary associations'

have you guys read michele bachmann's opinions on immigration

                they're pretty awesome

also w/r/t to homophobia: “I believe we should have a federal amendment in the Constitution that defines marriage as a relationship between a man and woman, because I believe the ideal place to raise a child is in a home with a mom and a dad.” - Mitt Romney, ignoring literal mounds of evidence that LGBT-raised children turn out the same as those raised by heterosexual parents

Rick Santorum literally wants to sign a literal amendment to the Constitution that would ban gay marriage. this is not a joke

I'll be frank, am I completely up to date with every policy for every candidate with a strong potential to win? Not even. Not really for any single one of them. Putting the fact that i'm not fully informed aside for a bit, let's look at this from a certain perspective, and then perhaps after the fact you can tell me what views he holds that are so insane that he should be completely pushed aside, because I'm aware without being fully aware, that his views are as you say, radical.

Let us take the last election for example. Obama stuck to a campaign that resonated "change". His popularity amongst young voters was especially notable, and he remained adamant and committed to communicate to the american people, that backroom politics would be something of the past, that things were actually going to get done the way they never have before if he were president. It was very convincing and yes, he has had his work cut out for him with a lot of slack to pick up. Even so, he was found to be just like any other president when it came to the issue of backroom politics. I pretty much right then and there saw him for what he was, someone who probably does want to make changes, but nothing close to what he tried to embody while he was running in the election. He's just another politician, and I don't necessarily have any ill view towards him, he's just, another guy doing the same old thing. If it makes him look popular, he will probably do it. That is how I feel about barack obama.

Taking into account what the average american actually knows about the politics surrounding this election, I feel what's actually important is the character of the nominee. Ron Paul's character speaks volumes for what he wants to try to do to help this country. He addresses the core issues of our countries problems in a very unorthodox manner, yet there isn't a doubt in my mind that he will do what he feels what is right 100% of the time purely because, he completely embodies that type of person. That is what I feel is more important. Policy is important, I'm not saying it's not at all, but I feel that this country is at a stage where someone like Ron Paul who will stay committed to his beliefs no matter what, is exactly what we need. I am now going to do some research now on Ron Paul's policies and see if I can find it reason enough to change my mind. Feel free to shed some light on the matter yourself.

                      Re: Iowa Caucuses tonight

One month after and less than 10 miles away from the spot where Mitt Romney laid out his 59-point plan to create 11.5 million jobs, his fellow GOP presidential candidate Ron Paul today put forth a plan that would slash $1 trillion from the federal budget in the first term of a Paul presidency.
                      ...
                      ...
But where Romney’s plan focused on job creation, Paul’s No. 1 goal is reducing the size of the federal government and balancing the budget, which his plan achieves by wiping out five cabinet departments and gutting funding to many others. Paul claims his plan would produce a budget surplus by 2015.
                      ...
                      ...
Under a Paul presidency the departments of Energy, Education, Housing and Urban Development, Commerce and Interior would cease to exist. Their elimination would slice about $179 billion from the federal budget and cut about 134,000 federal jobs.
                      ...
                      ...
Paul would slash funding for the remaining departments, including a 40 percent cut for the Food and Drug Administration and a 30 percent budget reduction for the EPA. The Department of Defense would see $832 billion disappear from its budget during Paul’s first term in office, most of which would stem from Paul’s plan to end all foreign wars and foreign aid.

He's also the guy who equates homosexuality to bestiality and incest. Oh and he couldn't even win a senate seat in his own state. How anybody thinks he's electable is beyond me.

I didn't know shit about Santorum because honestly, who cared before right now, but the stuff I'm finding is pretty tragic. He promised to go to war with China and claimed that Iran's Green Revolution was the real Arab Spring.

                            edit: lol

Ron Paul is my favorite candidate and I'd definitely vote for him if he wins the Republican ticket. Mitt Romney seems somewhat competent, so I'm not sure there... but the others are all idiots and if Paul or Romney doesn't win the Republican nomination, I *WILL* vote for Obama. I may live in a Blue State but this is definitely a Red County and people around here are constantly giving Obama crap for what he's failed to achieve... but let's face it, we've had far worse in Washington.

Gingrich is a ****ing Nazi and Bachmann... oh dear, words can't describe...
