Hmm, not sure -- hopefully it isn't a huge issue with this one.

Acer is ****ing horrible, but alright.
I would've recommended a Dell XPS, 13" probably. The keyboard is nice, speakers are damn clear, great screens, great webcam, battery, has optimus graphics switching (moar battery life), etc. Plus you don't need a mouse with it cause the touchpad is as big as a macbook's and has physical buttons. Pretty great.

It's funny that you say that because Dell is at the bottom of my list, just above Apple and HP. I've had nothing but the absolute worst experiences with them. Though that was all with desktop PC's, I'm not too well versed with notebooks.

"That just will not do." was keywii's response as she lunged for the scissors, pulled the blades apart, and clamped them down on the base of foil's shaft. Blood start gushing out of the wound where his penis used to be.
        "NOOOOOOOOOOOO!" Yelled Foil in horror.
"Don't worry. I'm a wizard" uttered Keywii. And with that, Foil's penis grew back.

17 inch laptops are bothersome for bringing around with you. But the specs looked good for the price.

Yeah that was my primary concern too (overall size) but honestly, I find tiny laptops hard to use. I just don't want it to be *too* big.

As for brands (Dell, ASUS, Acer, Toshiba, etc) I don't see a huge world of difference between the brands except for my own experiences (personally, I have had bad experiences with Dell and Lenovo).

I've had the least problems with Dell so far of all the companies I've dealt with. That, and the XPS line is easily the most polished laptops I've ever seen to date.
Btw, 17" IS too big. Way too big. Every person I've talked to that have 17" laptops have always said "why the **** did I get this, it's such a pain to carry around". 15" is a good middle point. 13" laptops are very portable and still powerful, so if I plan on running around a lot with your laptop, then I definitely recommend a 13" over 15". The keyboard size for 13" laptops are just about the same as a 15", just without a number pad, which is fine cause you probably don't use it that much anyways.

Oh that's a great one, nice choice! The only real downside to me looks like the size and the weight. 7lbs seems a bit much, but if you like it then that's awesome.

After a few months, I'd like to hear any feedback you have about it. I don't have much experience with Acer, especially laptops.

Acer is a reliable brand, but there are just so many people out there that bash it (Most of them being Dell fanboys or people that have had no experience with other brands aside from HP).

I personally carry around a 17.3" laptop and I find it just right (size wise).
Y'all are just haters 'cause you have to type on a tiny laptop lol jk

                    And...

I too have experience with it but I don't find it that much more bothersome than, say, a 15.4" laptop.

                      I guess it's more opinion-based.

Edit: Convenience is one thing, but you have to consider that performance falls in turn. My netbook experience has been anything but pleasant so I'm being extremely biased lol

The Acer I had was horrible. They planted W7 Starter edition on it and it was a shitty Netbook with like just low end specs for like $250. It burned out but that may be because my family doesn't look after how hot things get too much. But even when it was just like a little bit hot the Netbook would go into some sort of weird ass hibernative state. Worst $250 purchase ever lol

I'll let you guys know how the Acer goes once I get it (hopefully in a couple days) -- Acer is one of those brands I typically pass over for ASUS etc, but eh, always good to try out other variants.

Woops could have gotten an i7 for a tiny bit more.

IMO, i7's overkill for the pur- It's only $600.
