I recently(very very recently mind you..as in yesterday) stepped my first song. I use stepmania 5, but I can't for the life of me figure out how to make a .sm file without reverting back to stepmania 3.9, and then reupgrading back to 5. Anybody know how the hell I can create a song through SM5? I've been using DDReam studio for the actual stepping, but for my songs to work I have to create the file through stepmania and then replace it with the version I create though DDReam studio. Oh, and not that anyone would really want someone's shitty first file, but I'm pretty proud of mine so if anybody would like to try it out and let me know what they think I'd be more than happy to send you the file. It's one step closer by linkin park, and in FFR terms I'd rate it at roughly a 10.

Well from what I have heard, you currently have to use multiple versions of sm to produce that .sm file if you want to use it in SM5. So I don't really know if there is a way around that.
I also commend you on how you went about presenting your first file, since you took the time to state that you realize most firsts aren't great, etc. If you want to send it to me, feel free to and I'll take a look at it. I can definitely give a few pointers at the very least.
