If you absolutely cannot for any reason get your windows7 to install for some reason without wiping out all of your data...go buy an external hard drive, install windows on that, boot into it, then copy all of your files onto the new hard drive from the internal drive. Completely format and reinstall windows on the internal drive. Move your files back. Presto.

You didn't 'hack' by deleting system32, did you? W/e. Just do what darkshark mentioned, unless fido comes in with something better.

Re: WTF?! Help PLEASEEEE! My Computer BSOD'd

When you reformatted windows did you put in your disc and boot the. The the installer came up or did you run it while in windows and some installer came up? Also where does it say it can't find any drivers?

Also didn't know I was so notorious for this xD Thanks.

Edit: Hacking up = Actual hacks cause those may cause windows to crash to a BSOD?

Edit2: Also what brand is this computer? Many vendors these days have a way to reinstall Windows by basically having the install on your hardrive making everything super easy. To find this out for sure when you first boot your computer check if there's some option on the bottom right hand corner (or somewhere) that flashes by saying something similar to "F12 Recovery Partition" or "F12 Boot Recovery" although I've seen other 'F' keys used. Also to put your mind at rest this is a software issue, not a hardware issue. Your physical laptop appears to be fine from what I can see and software issues like these can always be fixed. Sounds like you just need to reformat and reinstall your drivers. A driver is simply a peice of software (something you install), that allows a peice of hardware to function within OS (Windows 7). Windows 7 comes pre-loaded with a bunch of generic drivers that work the vast majority of the time on any computer's hardware however this doesn't seem to the be case for you. You'll need to go to your manufacturues website, go to support/downloads or whatever, and find the drivers for your specific computer. If you don't have internet you can download them on another computer and transfer them via USB or any other median.

Toshiba usually has that recovery partition. Is it there? If shit goes to fast press the "Pause/Break" key once. Also when you tried to boot it, did it boot? How did you go about trying? Did you go to the Boot Menu, change your BIOS boot order, or just put it in and Boot?

ODD = Optical Disk Drive/CD Drive

So the way you currently have it is fine. Really though you DO NOT want to do this if you have a recovery partition. Do you have one? It has all your drivers pre-loaded onto it so when you install it'll be just like when you bought it rather than having to look for drivers etc etc.

I googled how to access the recovery partition and I tried it but nothing happened. It said to repeatedly press 0.

You will most likely have to reinstall Windows. If there are some data you need that are on the hard drive, I would suggest using a Live CD with a USB key (or external hard drive). If you don't know much about GNU/Linux, I would suggest Ubuntu, but pretty much any OS would work.

All you will have to do is to burn the image to a disk, put it in your drive and reboot your computer. You will now have access to your hard drive to save whatever you want.

If you need more information on the procedure, just ask.

Did you install Windows 7 with that same CD? If so, you might have problems with your hard drive.

Pressing 0 does nothing. It'll say it somewhere on the VERY first weird looking screen that pops up when you first turn on your computer. It'll be around the bottom right hand corner and you can press Pause/Break if it flies by to fast. If you want to backup your data it would be a good idea to do what Emerald is telling you to do and run an Ubuntu Live Disk. I wouldn't call it a hard drive issue yet but it seems possible if it's not showing up, however it might just be Toshiba's proprietary bullshit ****ing shit up so you HAVE to use their disks that cost $50 to mail for whatever god damn reason. What's the model of your computer?

                                Safe Mode with CMD Prompt

                                Enable Boot Logging
                                Enable Low-resolution Video
                                Last Known Good COnfigeration (advanced)

Disable Automatic restart on system Failure
                                Disable Driver signature Enforcement
