This US bill... I don't think it would affect Canada, would it?

        If not then I'm safe

No, but it will effect US-based sites that you visit, such as YouTube.
Imagine hopping on YouTube tomorrow and seeing 4 out of 5 videos blocked for you because you don't live in the United States. Yeaaahhh, now you care.

Quadruple proxy + 60 minutes waiting time. I'm gonna get my video if I want it. Besides, if that happened I'd just switch over to Nicovideo, no big deal

Yeah while you're at it, get an old 667mhz rig and mod the crap out of StarCraft II so you can run it.
There will always be ways to circumvent this kind of stuff, but why not just make a few posts on facebook or other forums, spread the word, so that you don't have to worry about that.

This would be a sad day for America if it passed. I really don't think it will, it would **** up everything and the internet and technology to a degree.

It would be a sad day for the world, since most of the popular websites are American- like MyFaceTubeSpaceRevolution.

In the small likelihood it passes, one should expect a shitstorm.

**** the RIAA, the MPAA, and anyone who thinks ridiculous regulations are a good thing. This won't pass and if it does it will be overturned and circumvented within a month.

Also lol'ing at the idiots trying to blame Obama.

I got to agree with you on this, an interpretation that is that literal is just dumb. The whole point behind the entire first amendment is basically to protect our freedom of expression. The individual components of the first amendment, such as the freedom of speech, petition, press, etc; are just more specific forms of freedom of expression. Any restrictions on the freedom of expression (whether that expression is in the form of speech, or dance, or fashion, or in this case, content and media on the internet) I would take as a contradiction of the first amendment.

I think there would be worse riots than the wallstreet stuff if this bill passed.
