The PS3's are clustered together. The site went down last year because Sony removed OtherOS which killed the site.

Pretty innovative to say the least. So all of FFR is on multiple high storage discs? I still don't really get exactly how you go about hosting a site from a ps3 lol.

same way people hosts online video conferences off of high end top teir smart phones. its pretty interesting stuff and definitely something worth checking out during free time

Yeah it was amazing FFR was able to stay up when the Playstation network got hacked. ap and Velo must have taken the necessary actions to keep the site up and running. For that I am grateful.

The servers at my University are all PS3's as well. Basically anything with a processor and an internet connection can be and is used as a server now.
