Re: ITT we talk about the US economy

Oh, but it's still rather annoying how the market isn't really responding to the change in currency because it either 1) hasn't "clicked in" and/or 2) products are automatically taxed because of the need to import US products to Canada.

Tbh, the consumers still don't really get the benefits yet. Hopefully sellers will realize that a higher Canadian dollar is here to stay and is not a temporary thing.

              uhh

our dollar has been over yours for quite a while now.
There is some sort of economic measure which makes our dollar technically better than your dollar in a non-exchange method.

What that is I have no idea. Something about stability and backing. I'm not a doctor.

I'm very ignorant when it comes to US finances but I hope that all those people who voted for Obama just because he's black regret their choice now.

And could someone explain to me why the free healthcare didn't work?

I'm probably gonna get a lot of people thinking I'm stupid for saying this, but I live in Texas, and it really isn't that bad here. We are affected of course, but it seems we are not affected nearly as bad as other parts of the country.

Don't get me wrong though, if Texas ever tried to secede, that would be an incredibly stupid decision.

                          Thats not an appropriate gauge.

In all truth, I've read a book of his and watched him often. The guy is incredibly informed and good with logic, but he can't reach his audience using logical statements. His appeal is to the far right and even though he stands on sensible ground he has to occasionally trumpet the moronic far right rhetoric which unfortunately makes him look bad. Poor guy.
