That sort of rumor is typically fake -- we all saw how Sony acted towards geohot. They are quicker to punish to the full letter of the law than they are to focus on acquiring talent. There is a rumored case of Sony trying to recruit Koushik Dutta (hacker of the Motorola Xoom) and being turned down because of how Sony was treating geohot (although personally I think the email is very unprofessional and makes me question its authenticity).
Although in this case, there's not much to laud about someone who compromises credit card data/passwords/personal info and causes problems for everyone.
You do know that xbox live went down FOR TWO WEEKS DURING CHRISTMAS IN 2010 JUST AFTER HALO 3'S RELEASE, RIGHT? SO QUIT SAYING XBOX IS SO DAMN BETTER, JESUS THEY BOTH HAVE THEIR UPS AND DOWNS BUT STOP BEING A FANBOY
Uhhh, sorry to say, but I was playing my xbox a LOT during then and it never went down...

Placements are final, custom will not be moved to D6, just because he is good at jacks, and mediocre at just about every other FMO in the game.

Xbox Live went down in 2007 due to the influx of new users getting Halo 3 for christmas and jumping on live at the same time. Simply overloaded there servers.
Fact of Fake, The hacker of PSN has now been hired by Sony to create a firewall to stop it from ever happening again. Either that or jail time.
Don't quote me, I heard it from a friend.
If the attacker was ever caught he would most likely be thrown in jail. No matter how badly sony wanted him to do something, he preformed a criminal act.
I'm sure sony can figure out how to cover their holes "after" they get breached on their own.
What further proves to me that Virus is retarded is that when I re-read his post about xbox live being down in 2010 he said the reason of it being down was because of halo 3 coming out... in 2010... lmfao wat
From what I've heard, they took down the network because of custom DEV firmware being distributed to Sony users. They were installing it on their PS3's, putting in fake credit card information, and purchasing a ton of stuff.
They took it down to contain the firmware or something like that i believe.
Not confirmed, just heard from a source (xJawz) one of his newest videos describes what he heard, and it sounds somewhat legit.

Sometimes when I am in a mad rush to shit and the toilet seat is up I do this motion where I am both putting the lid down and quickly sitting on said lid at the same time, but I have this nagging fear that at some point I am going to sit down wrong and somehow slam my nuts underneath the lid.

I'd love to hear more on that theory. +1 for possibility of this being a big pile of bs.
The custom firmware was call Rebug, a custom firmware design to enabled many of the debugging features on the PS3. Users noticed that after then change the PSN type from retail to dev, the Shop no longer verified the info as normal users don't have access to this network anyway. It's designed like that so devs and press can download the software without having to pay.
So yes, this much is true. Rebug also allows users on older firmwares to access PSN through the Dev network as the version check was also not used there.
Basically, Sony's security department has a lot on its plate lately.
Brilliant deduction there, detective.

And so it was, with this thread that, in 2014 Robertsona will be placed in history via the Legendary Thread section. He will be respected as a self-proclaimed master of TGB. A feat so uncared for and ignored that he himself committed suicide in early 2013.
