That may be true.
I don't know about anyone else, but if I ever saw a website that had an .xxx extension, the first thing I'd think is "VIRUS" and I wouldn't click on it.

Agreed. I wouldn't even bother with the site
It would be something new. It would take some time to get use to, but seeing as porn is the majority of the internet, I wouldn't expect it to not catch on within a short time interval.
If this is true, then wouldn't existing porn sites have to switch domain names? And on top of that, I think this would bring a ton of debates over what defines a porn site.

Oh they are. They're legitimate businesses and work on appeal to attract potential customers. The right shading and border for tits makes a huge (heh) difference.

This is legit. IANA approved .xxx as a top level domain about a month ago IIRC, at least that's when I heard about it. There's nothing unprofessional about it, and a .com doesn't cost more than a .biz. It doesn't change anything about the internet other than free up a bunch of domain names that were being occupied by porn sites, and minimize the chances accidentally going on a porn site.

"It's a win for people who want to consume adult content, it's a win for people who produce adult content, and it's a win for people who want to stay away from this material as well,"

Saw this on AOTS a few weeks ago. It may be a little unnecessary but I don't see any problem with it, it does allow users to easily distinguish between nsfw sites hahaha.
I don't think it's a bad idea at all, only a little humorous.
