        This test is lying. My real download speed is 200~220 kb/s.

                    It's pretty wildly inaccurate and not representative of actual speeds. On the other hand, it's equally inaccurate for everyone, so it's okay for comparing two connections.

                        When is the last time ANY of you were actually able to download at the speed suggested by these speed tests. Oh right. Never.

                        This is why I said they mean absolutely nothing.

                            Usually the formula is to take your download speed from one of those sites and divide it by 8, that will be your max download speed for downloading files and such.

                            When I upgraded to 10mbit I was kinda pissed that my download speed wasn't anywhere close to 10mb/s so I called my ISP and they explained that to me. Has something to do with bits vs. bytes, I don't remember all of what they said.

                            So for example if you have 7.00mb/s one one of these speed tests, your max download speed will be about 875kb/s.

                            Pic related: my result. 10.49 and my max download speed comes in at just a hair under 1.3mb/s.
