-2 i think. was all good until college started, then my eyesight started deteriorating. I only wear my glasses when driving at night and during lectures.

I have pretty bad myopia at this point, and it gets worse every year. I need a new prescription at this point, so I don't know what my vision is at anymore. It's not terrible, but it's not great either.

Computer use probably contributes to the ontogeny of myopia, but I doubt it causes it, as there's no evidence for that. There are numerous factors that contribute to myopia. Hell, some studies show a correlation (r=0.3-0.4) between IQ and myopia when controlling for other variables. Being smart is as likely to cause nearsightedness as sitting in front of a computer, so I wouldn't worry about it too much.

I don't know my own prescription (I use glasses why would I...) So I'll just describe it.

This screen is about 17 inches from my face.

My nose has to be about 12 inches to read with minimal squinting.
9 Inches for no squinting at all.

Eh, when it comes down to matters of my eyesight lets just say I got the short end of the stick. Myopia runs rampant on my mother's side of the family - almost all of the women have had to get LASIK eye surgery at one point or another. Curiously, to my knowledge I am the first male in the family to have really, really bad eyesight - I don't know of any others that have needed any sort of vision correction.

I got my first set of glasses when I was 7 years old, and by the time I was 11 I was already at the -6.00 diopter range. Following a rapid deterioration, it has slowed down somewhat, but I still have to get new glasses every 12-16 months. My current prescription is as follows:

-9.00 in my left eye
-7.50 in my right eye

I can't give figures for the 20/20 ranges, because my optometrist literally told me that my eyesight is beyond the range of normal testing. The last figures I have is for March 2007, when I was at 20/2000 in my left eye and 20/800 or so in my right.

And that was in April of last year when I got that prescription. Based on the rate at which my prescription has gone up, I am without a doubt at -10.00 or worse by this point, seeing how my prescription changes by 1.00 to 1.50 each visit. I'm actually about to get my eyesight tested and my eyeglasses replaced - I'm having a good deal of trouble seeing out of these when it involves reading and such. Even in general, everything has a degree of blur to it.

Hmm, I don't know if it's the game or just me but the arrows are always really blurry to me. I can still play good and I wear reading glasses....who knows.

I have my prescription lying around somewhere in this desk, but I do remember I hit 20/550 in my left and 20/600 in my right about 6 months back.

I'm bad at having bad eyesight (I have good eyesight). Always had 20/20 vision. Never needed glasses or contacts and I'm definitely in front of screens a lot of the time.

Wow Bynary, that's pretty bad. Just for a reference, if you can only see the E on the Snellen Test, you have around 20/400 vision. Now imagine 20/2000 :O

My bad eye sight is what made my wife and I meet. I'm supposed to wear glasses, but I don't. I can't stand things being on my body, other than standard clothing, that don't belong.

I was new at this one school. I had to squint to see everything. I was looking at this one girl in front of the class, I was in the back of the class, but of course I had to squint. She looked back and saw me, then looked forward. So, later that day, I find out I have study hall with her. The only seat left was by her and her friend. So, I sat down. She asked me why I was glaring at her because I was sitting next to her old boyfriend, she thought I was just another person in the school to attack her with the rumors her ex was saying. I explained that I was just squinting, resulting in us being friends, falling in love, marrying, and having a baby.

To this day, she still mocks and says I was glaring at her. :/
