could someone differentiate veteran from elite supporter please?

Requirements should still be 3 billion GTS and 3 years, according to the news post.

For the Veteran/Elite Supporter thing, I imagine that people who had paid subscriptions before FFR shut down (as in, was a subscriber when the site shut down) still have subscription status, while Veterans would be people earning the subscriber status via different methods, AKA getting 3 billion GTS and 3 years.

as far as I can tell, blue names had a subscription before the vet update. People (like myself) with regular names with Elite FFR Supporter tagged on are Veterans. There are blue names who are also veterans, there are some who are not.

Not entirely sure when they're going to completely do away with subscriptions, but I would imagine it to be sometime in the next week or so.

Not sure if you knew, but you can go under your user cp and go to edit usergroups to make your name blue if you're a vet. :P

Exactly my point. It's Veteran, not "Elite", "Professional", "Master". I don't mean to argue about the meaning of the word but I think the point was of rewarding people who have been around for a long time, not rewarding people who are better than others.

Whoring the game for GTS is just as irritating a concept as posting a whole bunch.

Consider that as the current requirements stand, I don't qualify as a veteran. That suggests to me that the system is missing an element.

I don't agree. People post-whoring the forum are ruining it for other members of the community. People would without any doubt post massive amounts of pointless posts if it would give them new features in the game, whether they actually want to participate in conversations or not.

People whoring the game aren't ruining anything for anyone. They can play all they want without harming anyone. The thing is, it's not affecting everyone else in the community in the same way as every post-whoring would.

And you don't meet the requirement because you don't have 3 billion gts. In my own opinion and like I just said, the whole Veteran thing is to reward people who have been here for a long time. The additional gts requirement is not necessary, but it gives a good idea of who's actually been playing during the 3 years... Maybe not the best idea but it's still pretty much the best way of finding who's been active for 3 years.

Still though... You've been around for more than twice the required time and even though you didn't play as much, you still contributed. I think the real problem is determining who's been active and who hasn't.

I wasn't a subscriber in a really long time, you can just change your usergroup in the control panel and your name will go blue.

Veteran status should correlate to join date, if it isn't already.
