Re: Current Seniors
I was really wondering what kind of mutant high school teaches poisson/gamma processes
Yeah a 34 is high enough that you probably don't need to bother taking it again. On the other hand, why not, especially since you already ponied up. Worst case, you lose a few hours of your life.

Re: Current Seniors
Yeah, besides, your SAT is already good enough. Although you need to bolster it with SAT2's if you haven't already.
I took the ACT on top of my SATs and it turned out to be a pretty big waste of time compared to everything else. You've got the scores already -- focus on writing better essays for your apps. The marginal benefit is much larger in that category at this point.Comment

Re: Current Seniors
Seriously statements of those type really just piss me off, they don't help in any way and it seems like everyone is somehow able to do better when they "focus more than before".

Re: Current Seniors
Are you f*cking serious?
The whole reason to major in math is to prove things. Math isn't about solving problems, it's about making deductions.

Re: Current Seniors
"Focusing" is just another way of saying "will power."
It means forcing yourself to get to bed by a decent hour. Eating regularly/healthily. Not wasting time procrastinating. Force yourself to stick to a routine and ensure that certain goals are met daily. If you find yourself not meeting those goals by the end of the day, have a backup plan that you can invoke, or compensate for the lost progress at a later date (better sooner than later).
tl;dr you have to just take it all much more seriouslyComment

Re: Current Seniors
Speaking of procrastinating I just push off my projects until the very last day no matter how much time I'm originally assigned with :P
But I seem to become lucky and get around them no matter what roflComment

Re: Current Seniors
Well that would've helped a long time ago when I first heard that phrase. My current lifestyle gets my stuff done and I don't wake up groggy so it's at the very least stable.
Also I never tl;dr posts unless they're huge articles copy and pasted verbatim.Originally posted by hi19hi19oh boy, it's STIFF, I'll stretch before I sit down at the computer so not I'm not as STIFF next time I step a fileComment
