    My parents tried to raise my religiously. In about 2nd or 3rd grade I realized it was bs so I never paid attention from then on in sunday school. By the time they wanted me to do a confirmation I just told them no. They made me tell the rabbi that I was going to quit. So I did, and that was that. Never went back.

      My Dad is pretty religious and an obnoxious family values hardliner to boot which really turned me off of church. He spent a ton of time and effort trying to get me to go through confirmation, but he finally gave up. For my next birthday he gave me a piece of rope.

        This is right, but along the way, the scientific method was established and used as the measuring stick for FACT. No longer could someone make **** up and say a god did it.

        It might have been the seed that led ancient Man down the path toward enlightenment, but it's not a useful tool for examining the World around us anymore.
