This is the one I currently have. I forget where I found it, but I just really think it's nifty lookin'.

It says "I will not just believe I can't understand" over and over again, just if you can't read it that well.

Anybody looking for a new Desktop toy?

                Get 3DNA (Link)

This is one of the most awesome desktop tools I have ever seen. Some of the things in here rival video game physics (I couldn't believe it either).

Yea, it is annoying that I can't get the full version without paying 30 bucks. But it still has a whole plethora of features. Here's what this program is all about.

This program turns your desktop into a 3-D environment. Everything is customizable. Every wall has something to change, whether it be the media wall, the browser wall, or the general application wall. You can change anything you like on any surface. And, of course, there's basketball too. The environment also can change. Meaning you can change the background of the loft, the loft itself, and move around all the furniture if you like.

Movement through the place is just like it is in an FPS. Though, to move the camera, you have to hold right-mouse and move around. You can knock over stuff on tables, pick up tables, slide chairs, whatever.

Enough of me talking about it...here's some screens for you. Also, you can see that I got my skin changed (thanks, djshox).

The first picture is the best view I could get of the entire loft. You can see the applications "menu", the Options circle, and the browser shortcuts.

The second picture is a closeup of some bookmarks. This is to show how movement can occur and that FFR is one of my bookmarks. Also, you can note that the location of the bookmarks changed. I moved them around before taking the closeup picture. WHAT DID I HIDE :O

The third picture is showing the basketball court, the lawn chairs, the enviroment, and the physics that impress me very much for a free program. Not only did I slide the chairs from the other side of the court to the front, I put the ball on a chair and threw one of the official symbols into the net. I have too much fun with this thing.

I would use that if I had a much higher resolution (1024X768 right now), so I'll just stick to my 4 desktop toy =D

I have no mercy for my huge desktop size. BTW MrESqueek, that's a nice picture of the earth at night.

KDE and Gnome desktop environments make linux much slower than windows xp, kthx.

Go to www.download.com, and search for windows xp theme, there should be a result called StyleXP. It's very good, you can rotate themes and visual styles everytime you log on. Its what I use, no need to register either.
StyleXP is a waste of space. I would normally point you to a mostly idiot-proof utility located at redf.net, but the site is reorganizing, so I'll mirror the uxthemepatch manual utility:

Read the readme, use common sense, &c.

More like *NIX, but the basic point is the same and is good. Heil KDE!

The only thing that's slower is the initial startup of applications, which is mostly due to the lack of a real library pre-loader/pre-fetcher. Everything else has run at the same speed or faster, in my experience.

It's the 521 design pack that comes with style xp if you download it.
