    Read any good books lately?

I just read book 1 of the Mortal Instruments. You can legally read the entire thing online for free, for a limited time here,

It was a fantastic book. I'm going to have to buy books #2 and #3 pretty darn soon.

Currently I'm reading Vanity Fair (yes, as in the old one by William Makepiece Thackery, not the magazine). It's okay, it's just one of those old classics y'know. I read the Secret Window a few months ago.

    And the bonus question:
    Kindle- yay or nay?

Wow, City of Bones looks really good. I'll read it as soon as I'm done with On Fortune's Wheel.

As for the Kindle: only if you can't find a paperback. :P

For my summer reading I read, And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie, and The Bean Trees by Barbara Kingsolver.

Both were fine however I found And Then There Were None to be much more thrilling and entertaining. Really great book, will definitely look into more publications by Agatha Christie.

Other books I read on my own time recently were Feed, and Octavian Nothing both by M. D. Anderson, and The City of Dreaming Books by my favorite author Walter Moers.

All three books have proved to be incredibly entertaining, and I won't hesitate to read more by these authors.

And then there were none is quite good. I had to read Grapes of Wrath for my summer reading. I loved it, only the ending blew hard ass. HARD HARD ass.

post-dumps abstractly represent the existential nihilism that the song invokes in the listener with negative space, evoking the ephemeral nature of the mind - the journey of stepmania begins in hope yet soon becomes corroded into a dialectic of futility, leaving only a sense of dread and the unlikelihood of a new synthesis

I haven't read in a while but the last book I read was suggested by a former english professor I know. The name of the book is "The Alchemist", I'll assume a lot of people know it because it tends to circulate a lot midway through high school and early college/cejep. The book isn't very long which was a shame by the time I got done with it, I was thinking to myself "I wish there was a sequel or it had been made 200-300 pages longer". Lately I haven't really read much but I do re-read The Alchemist when I've got not much else to do.

Cry Vengeance by Ron Handberg, and The Eleventh Commandment by Jeffrey Archer.

              Both re-reads.

Hosseini's Kite Runner (for summer reading)

Pretty good, probably the most enjoyable school book I've ever read.

I thought we had a book thread recently. And I thought I posted in it. ?_?

Well, I'll just put down my favorites/recent

A Song of Ice and Fire - George R. R. Martin
House of Leaves - Mark Danielewski
                  Fight Club - Chuck Palahniuk
                  Everything by Kurt Vonnegut
American Gods - Neil Gaiman (also The Sandman is awesome)
                  Lolita - Vladimir Nabokov

I know, it's like a word for word copy of the SA list. But I guess I just share goon preferences.

I really loved One FLew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. Also, Invisible Monsters by Chuck Palahniuk, The Audacity of Hope, and This is Your Brain on Music by Daniel Levitin.

                    Also, in before Twilight.
