    Takashi Miike's:Audition

    It is currently 2:05 A.M. and I just finished watching one of the scariest movies I have ever seen. It is a Japanese Film called Audition.

    It is about a widower Husband who is not very sociable. After having a conversation with his Son, he decides it is time for him to re-marry. He works in the movie department as a producer, so one of his co-workers decides he should stage a fake audition for a movie and pick out the girl he likes the most.

    He fines the most perfect girl, who reminds him much of his dead wife....

    Simple enough, yeah?

    "You cant go anywhere without your feet...this wire can cut through meat and bone no problem"

    This movie is definately not for those who are...well, faint of heart to say the least. Though it isnt as bloody as Kill Bill or Battle Royale, or as gory as Ichi the Killer, I found Audition to be more distrubing than the three.

    I highly recommend it to anyone who is willing enough to watch it.

      I saw a review for that movie in the New York post for an Asian film festival and they pretty much said the same thing, this was back in August though. I've been looking for that movie for a while though, was it on VCD or just plain old DVD/VHS?

                  so, what's scary about it? all you said is one line that insinuates getting your feet chopped off. it makes no sense.

                  The scariest movie I've seen is Event Horizon.

                      Event Horizon was weak, I dont understand why people were so freaked out about it.

                      And I didnt want to give away what makes it scary because that in itself is what makes the movie great. And also the fact that there is a possiblity that something like what happens in the movie could actually happen.

                      I "borrowed" the film through Suprnova.org. Unless you live in a big city or asian community, I doubt you will be able to rent. But it is avaible over the amazon and whatnot to purchase...but you may want to watch it before you buy it.
