    2009 FIFA Confederations Cup Semi-finals (06/24 @ 2:30pm ET)

Root for you red, white, and blue as they face #1 ranked Spain on ESPN @ 2:30pm ET.

The other Semi-final game is South Africa vs. Brazil. USA really needs South Africa to win so that the US doesn't face Ronaldinho and Brazil.

Even if you don't like soccer, just watch five minutes of the USA vs. Spain game and you'll be hooked.

edit: I for one won't be able to see that game because I'll be going through the airport in Mexico.

edit2: Lemme hear a "GO USA!"

    I voted Spain.

I will be extremely surprised if USA wins against Spain.

It will probably be Brazil vs Spain

The number one team. Why is there a poll?

That's the obvious prediction by a lot of people. I don't care. I'm still rooting for USA.

Obveious is usually correct when it comes to football.

Normally I only follow the English Barclays Premiership League (Go Arsenal) and a bit of la liga. I dont know much about the Confederation Cup so unless the same main players are playing the La Liga and the Confederation Cup, then Im not to sure. Although USA has surprised people in the last olympics, so who knows.

My bet is still Spain though.

            Man U represent.

The Confederation Cup is basically a "get to know your possible World Cup opponents" tournament.

And the US is up 2-0 in the 90th minute... The red for Bradley sucked. Altidore's (sp) goal wasn't anything special, but it was very very welcome. Dempsey's goal was pretty awesome, though I was hoping for Donovan to just take him right then and there.

I only saw about 2/3 of the game, but I really liked what I did see. I hope that I don't jinx us right now by posting this, but I really hope that the US can pull it off.

                  ****ing awesome

I can't believe the US defense held for the entire game. They were under pressure the entire time and it looked like Spain would break through, but somehow they held on.

                        Hehe....

Speaking of which. I was out at a german brewery here in Nanjing China for a study abroad. I had a bunch of friends here and we all convined themanager who we knew very well to stay open at least until the game ended which was like 4AM. Everyone was happy that USA won even the spaniard that was in our group who was happy that USA won, but also sad that Spain lost. We were noting this was a happy day, but we also considered that soccer isn't big in the US and people would be at work or dont even know what soccer is let alone the Confederations cup was.We were pretty pissed about that this morning.

Got home at like 7AM drunk as **** and I almsot missed my 1PM class. Decided to go and was 30 min late. LOL Im going back to sleep now. Im still drunk and Im writing this. Amazing.
