I'm right across the water from Manhattan, here on campus. In fact, it's clearly visible from the window beside me. Where you are all complaining about the two or three cases in your counties getting your panties into a bunch, try at least 50, okay? I don't see the streets littered with dead bodies. I don't see Manhattan in shambles. Sorry to burst your bubble, people, but this isn't the T-virus, and your zombie apocalypse isn't happening.

we're screwed. especially since I-35 runs right in front of my campus, and hundreds of thousands of people travel that interstate. several people have tested positive for flu here in waco recently, no word yet if its normal or swine - waiting for the test results.

Agreed. If everyone did their history on past pandemics/epidemics many started with no "cure" yet they either only sickened or killed a low number of people before it was eradicated. This outbreak is no different. Hell, most people who are getting sick (outside of Mexico lol) are recovering just fine as if they only had the normal seasonal flu. People just need to chill. Even if you DO get it, it's still no cause for alarm. As long as you've been in good healthy condition and had your regular exams with health care professionals you'll be fine. The media sucks cause they're blowing it WAY out of proportion. Also, the WHO is a bunch of fence post tools scaring everyone into thinking the world's in a pandemic. WHO can kiss my ass. Sorry pussies.

Truly, we want this to be a big thing because we are bored with out lives.

This sickness is nothing to even attempt to worry about, whatever the media is saying is what is being said to scare you, it is a common flu that goes around and by giving it a special name makes people freak out. If on said, "oh hey, there is a flu going around" it is nothing new and people to worry about it, give it a special name which turns into a "oh hey, you hear the swine flu is going around?" and then all of a sudden people freak out over nothing. It is not deadly, just a common flu, and the deaths mainly are seen to affect infants whos immune systems cant handle the strength of the flu greatly affecting them. Mexico just sucks at treating their people, hence why they relied on us by sending their 23 month old over to get cured when it did not make it. So there is nothing to freak out over, you will not die, treat it like a common flu and you are fine, nothing to go crazy over and get all hype about. Hence why if you believe this flu is deadly or as bad as they make it, you fail at life.
