How on earth does someone inhale a part of a fir tree? I think you'd notice if you inhaled something 5 cm long.

Also, just fyi, fir is extremely tolerant to shade, it relies much more on moisture than on sunlight, and actually does poor in situations with full sunlight.

But there's no taproot or anything. I think you'd feel the taproot digging into your body before there was any chance for needles to come out.

But seriously, you would have to be an idiot to not notice inhaling something that big and pointy. Or maybe he did it on purpose to get a rise out of the public. I don't know.
