Yeah, we've seen pretty stupid threads stickied. If people keep contributing to this one, especially since it's interesting and useful for dorks like us, I don't see why it shouldn't.
The weight of what I say depends on how you feel.

i found that a 2x2 was a lil tough to figure out, but once it was figured out it was almost easier than eating pizza, i just figured it would be amusing to see a tutorial for it, not that i actually expected anyone to do it

Which order do you want me to do this?

        I was thinking:
        3x3 2-look OLL/PLL
        4x4
        5x5.

I know how to solve it. I want to get faster but the first step is lubing up the inside.

What's the best thing to use? I'm a little apprehensive with using Vaseline for my cube..

Most fast people use liquid silicone lubricant - it's not greasy (like Vaseline) and doesn't degrade the cube (like WD-40). Something like this would work.

The Teraminx is the dodecahedral version, right? Or was that the Megaminx and the Teraminx is going one step up by making a d20 (icosahedral) shape?

Also, requesting Rubik's Pyramid. I also happen to have a Snake sitting in my room, so if anyone wants to know how to get it back into the ball shape...

mmh.. I'll suppose I'll get to working on a 4x4 tutorial then.

EDIT: unless you want 2 look first, because that's what I use to solve the end of my 4x4 and it helps eliminate some parity.

For anyone who's wondering: Megaminx is pretty much the dodecahedron version of the Rubik's Cube, with 1 layer per side. Gigaminx has 2 layers per side, Teraminx has 3, Petaminx has 4, and so on.

Haha, no thanks. I've solved a computer Petaminx once or twice, but it takes ages (about an hour straight for me), and it would take even longer on a real one. Computer puzzles can turn way faster than real ones can.

Assuming you mean the Pyraminx, there's a pretty basic solution. There are three types of pieces: tips (at the very corners), corners (connected to the tips), and edges.
Step 1: Solve all the tips relative to the corners (this is very easy).
Step 2: Choose a color and turn the corners so that all the corner stickers of that color are on the same side.
Step 3: Hold that side on the top. Now, insert edges by putting a slot on the front, turning the bottom face to get the edge in the right spot (I don't feel like making an image so you can figure this out yourself, it's quick) and use R Li Ri L (edge on right) or Li R L Ri (edge on left). R and L are the two front-right and front-left corners.
Step 4: If the puzzle isn't solved yet, go back to step 2, using a color that isn't solved yet

                            Teaser:

I'm about half done, hang in there guys

@Fuzen: I'll make my 2 look tutorial when I get back on my XP with all my algorithms on it next week. Basically what it is in a nutshell is solving the top cross, identifying your situation, orienting the top layer (getting the top all one color [OLL]). The first look of PLL is aligning all the corners, the second is aligning the edges. It makes for about a 15 algorithm system compared to the 60+ if you were to do the 1 look OLL/PLL. It's only slightly less inefficient. My 4x4 guide will include the 2 look method as well as the basic method. Although, the 2 look method will be useless until I make the OLL/PLL tutorial, but hey, you can live with some 25+ move algorithms until then right? x.x

                            EDIT: She is ready Posting.
