If I had a rubik's cube, I'm sure your instructions would help me out. I know that sounds kind of lame, but using the pictures and breaking it into sections is always good for tutorials. My eyes started to skim around the FiBiLiBi and whatnot, but if I had a cube, I'd definitely give it an honest try. Anyway, thanks for the guide

Thanks, but I don't know what you mean by "middle slice." This algorithm I read as a kid only used standard side moves, but it was long and mind-numbing.
Say, for example, the white side has the center rotated clockwise an the red side has the counterclockwise center, which is the case. I make it so that the red side is the up and the white side is the right, then...
Crap. I guess I'll just have to scramble it again and hope it comes out eventually.

What?
If you're talking about getting the cross, but the edges aren't lined up, just make sure to check that before you start plugging corners. It's one of my most common mistakes, I'll buzz through the cross and forget to line it up and I'll get done putting my corners in and be completely in the wrong postition which makes me do some complicated PLL algorithms to permute all the junk into the right spot. It really is a hassle.

Thank you. btw, rubik's cubes are like 10 bucks at your local walmart/target/k-mart/street corner. Probably cheaper on ebay, but I wouldn't trust ebay for your first cube. Unless you live like 100 miles away from the nearest sign of industrialization or are like 1,000,000 dollars in credit card debt and can't affort 10 bucks, next time you're shopping at any store with a toy section, go find the electronic handheld game/gadget section and look around. I found mine behind a 20Q game.
This thread would be worth it if even one person went in not knowing and came out knowing how to do it. Come on non-cubers! 6 algorithms, none of which are hard to memorize.
Bump. It seems like these cube things are more popular these days than they were back in March 2009, so instead of creating a new thread, I'll just bump this one.
Plus, it's a pretty bitchin tutorial (no modesty).
I might create a 4x4/5x5 guide if this thread gets a better response. Maybe a 2 look OLL/PLL tutorial as well.
Sorry if you think this bump was unnecessary, but it will die again in a week if it doesn't get a good response anyway..
This is a great guide, shows exactly how I learned to solve my first rubiks cube. a 4x4 guide would be fantastic.

I was wondering what the hell this 2 look OLL/PLL is because I never heard of it before, so i decided to look it up, and I discovered that I do a 2 look OLL. I thought I was just being lazy lol.
