Red/blue/yellow and gold/silver were great innovations and I'm very pleased with how they turned out. I'm also dissatisfied with the general decay of Pokemon. It got fat off of its success, and then Nintendo let it rot. They're good at doing that.

I'm not interested in a lengthy debate, partly because I think you're stating the obvious.

I've done far more than that and though I was a fan of the series I don't exactly see it as something to boast about. I even went and dropped $50 on Pokemon Stadium 2 the day it came out, and that was when I was 12. That was serious business, spending that kind of money on anything.

But you're bothering to go on a tirade about Pokemon? How about the general state of things over at Nintendo? Sure they're profitable, but they're sellouts who hardly did justice to most of their franchises. How about SSBB? I was a rabid SB fan, before they waited six years, three months, and six days to release a crappy sequel that felt clunky with hardly any serious updates and a gimp online mode that all of us fans had thought should have been included in the previous game anyways.

It's not even worth it thinking about it anymore. On to better things.

Rofl. I really don't think pokemon is meant to be critiqued so hard.

Also, I never remember pokemon being a world class anime. Granted, I haven't watched the show since I was about 8 or 9. All I recall is Team Rocket trying to catch pikachu each and every episode. They do so. They get caught. They get blown up. Rinse, repeat.

You see though, I didn't care. I was 8 years old.

The fact of the matter is you simply aren't the demographic they are aiming to please. The show probably hasn't gotten much worse. You just got older.

Sadly, the series really has deteriorated. That's what put me off from it in the first place. The goodness ended in Gold/Silver, though they could have done so much more with the concept.

pokemon snap was the win of all of them. always aiming for that perfect moltres shot at the beginning of the lava level.

Paul is actually directly based off Silver, and Silver is a Generation II character (aka your rival in the GSC games). That's why he's so badass.
