Cardinals are a joke, honestly the reason i would say the Cardinals have gotten this far was the opposing team not taking them as seriously as they would if it was a consistantly good team. If Fitzgerald is well contained I don't see the Cards breaking 10 points

I hate it when people are way too obsessed over any sport, they become all assholish and don't let anyone have an opinion

          its sort of like politics

I can't believe anyone would type two pages of text in response to someone saying "i hate the steelers," because they like them. lol, wow

I decide based on the city and area they represent and for their skills. Some people are in it for rivalry, some for sport, some for a good game. so when he said "hate" first off you didn't know what he meant by it or why he felt it. Secondly, everyone has their own love of the game.

It would be cool if people could not be asses for once, but I know that's too much to ask

I mean don't get me wrong they have good players, but they can't consistantly run the ball and their defense is bad. That combination isn't going to win you a championship.

Exactly. Steelers seem to have both, hence why the have a greater chance at the win.

Uhh, it's called discourse. I assume you might be familiar with serious discussions beyond pleasantries..?

I can't stand it. Every time I offer a detailed and thoroughly explained opinion based on reason and substantiated with fact, I get told that my arguments for it mean I don't accept the opinions of others.

I have no problem with the opinions of others. Once again, as I have repeatedly explained throughout my years here, I expect you to back up what you're thinking. I don't care what you think, so long as it's a valid and thoroughly thought out opinion reasoned out and based upon fact. It may be an opinion, but it must be a valid conclusion based on fact, otherwise it's a faulty and invalid opinion based off of crude conjectures. That's a pitiful excuse, calling something you infer your opinion and then often times playing it off as fact, going between one thing and the other as it becomes convenient.

It has nothing to do with my like of the Steelers. It has to do with my respect for the game in general. I was just as heated in my discussion of last year's super bowl, and often times I defended the Patriots, a team which by many people's standards I'm supposed to be hating simply because they bested my favorite team in the playoffs. But whatever, keep your stupid inferences and assume away, as you'll do anyways.

so when he said "hate" first off you didn't know what he meant by it
Uhh, there's not exactly much room for interpretation.

1 a: intense hostility and aversion usually deriving from fear, anger, or sense of injury b: extreme dislike or antipathy : loathing <had a great hate of hard work>2: an object of hatred <a generation whose finest hate had been big business — F. L. Paxson>

Anything else would be a misappropriation of terms, and that's certainly not my fault.

Secondly, everyone has their own love of the game.
You mean, it's okay for people to be ignorant tools.

It would be cool if people could not be asses for once, but I know that's too much to ask
Oh yeah, I was being an asshole because I was intense in discussing things, while also requiring that in your discussions you use fact to back your arguments. Jesus, I'm assuming you never had to take debate classes or anything of the sort. You'd fail miserably.

You're allowed to think the Cardinals will win. You're allowed to think they've got a better chance, though if I present my arguments, that doesn't mean it invalidates your opinion as long as it's based on fact. (as an example, if you think the Cardinals will win because of their receiving talent, and how well their defense is playing, I will accept that, and counter it with an opinion of my own in the interest of discussion. If you say the Cardinals will win because the Cardinals beat the Eagles, I'm going to get irritated with you.) It simply means we are discussing it and trying to learn from each other. I like hearing the opinions of others when they're valid. I am a listener in that sense, and I always seek to improve myself based upon that.

OrganisM, I think people would have less trouble with your opinions if you didn't write an essay about every topic. You may have a lot to say, but people on an online forum don't care; condense your ideas.

                              Not completely true dore.
I personally enjoy reading his points of view and having them thoroughly explained.
Although, I doubt this is true for others.
So, a dumber down version tacked on the end would probably be useful to those with the attention span of a muffin.
