I agree that you can be serious on FFR but you will find those people *cough*foilman*cough* who are assholes whenever people are trying to be serious.Comment

Re: I'm so depressed now...
I'm manic depressive and have enough fucked up stories thus far that can make you scared so shitless you'll feel like your depression is just dandy. There are different places for different things. The place for your original post is in a blog. What you're supposed to post here is stuff that encourages dialogue, not some sob story about how a TV show made you sad. Shit happens, life's a bitch, times get tough. I have gone through absolute hell and watched my life come crashing down around me. And you know what I do? I man up, channel my energy into the right places, and get right back to work pushing toward my goals. I don't come on Chit Chat and give them my bleeding mascara sob stories.
On a kinder note, I understand what an intense depression feels like. I've been there. That pit of tar that holds you in its embrace until you feel like you're choking, where no matter what you do you're drained, sleeping all day and waking up tired, an appetite that is never satiated by any amount of eating, feeling hopeless and as if your body weighs a ton... I get it. I could go on and on, but the symptoms could hardly do justice to the feeling, and to those who haven't felt it, it will never have any meaning. If you want to intellectualize the problem, do so in a blog, preferably a private one so you don't embarrass yourself. However, if you spend too much time dwelling on it and not enough on trying to fight it, you'll end up working yourself into circles of rationalization and fooling yourself into believing that everything truly is hopeless and that there is no solution. All you can do is to fight against those grasping tendrils, to make it your mission each and every day to battle it in any way you can. Most of us who deal with such things come up with little mental tricks to kind of push ourselves past our boundaries. This is something you can learn and come up with when talking to other people who deal with depression. But this is certainly not the place to be discussing it..

Re: I'm so depressed now...
I'm laughing because of all the people who actually said **** to stavie in this thread, you picked me to call out? Did you read the ****ing thread?
I didn't say anything to him other than that he's feeding the trolls. You care to explain why you think I'm being an asshole when other people in this thread actually said something to him?
And if this situation truly called for me to be serious, fear not, for I can be srs as fuc.Comment

Re: I'm so depressed now...
I just don't condone talking about depression, or really any psychological disorder or illness, in a public setting like this. It isn't appropriate. You would be surprised at how many people have to live with them, or live with someone that has to live with them. And MOST of the people that do deal with it get kind of touchy when the topic comes up.
Then the people that don't know much about them can comment and be rather offensive.
So for future reference I wouldn't haphazardly spout, "I have clinical depression." I know it can be a terrible thing, but a lot of people go through a lot worse on a daily basis and don't make threads wanting to talk about it. You keep it to yourself or get help within your family and with people you trust. It's really supposed to be something private.
If you had wanted to talk about how sad the movie/show whatever it was that you watched was, and how it kind of depressed you, it would be more appropriate to center the topic specifically on the show. It would bring forth different responses, and probably still help you feel better.Originally posted by ~jroddkeep ur head up or down whatevers most comfortable idk but ya i repsect u cuz u respect others and we all have opinions to share, so respect one another and keep being urself or someone else wateverOriginally posted by ~Tao of DossarI never self-reflect, and therefore, I have no negative thoughts about myself. You were just the first person I saw that said something. It nailed my point home quite nicely though, FFR is really not a place to discuss sensitive issues because people will say things that will make you feel worse.Comment

Re: I'm so depressed now...
Being serious though Kimi whatever is one of those total bull**** shows that tries to stuff your face with depression while losing basically all possible quality like "DO YOU FEEL BAD NOW?!?!?! HUH?!?!? HUH!?!". Grave of the Fireflies is 34872395789247x sadder because it doesn't suck total balls.
Also, "don't kill yourself or you'll make your sister sad" etc.

Re: I'm so depressed now...
I felt highly depressive once and I found that it wear off after a while. I also found out that doing things that you like is a good way of feeling better. I played Stepmania for 5 hours straight and during that lap of time, I thought of nothing. Absolutly nothing. I was so in the game that I completly forgot about the world that suround me. SM has the strange ability to to that to me. Also, it is extremly relaxing (for me). Even though a normal person would say that doing trills at 300 BPM is NOT relaxing xD
My advice : Find you a hobby that you really likes and your depression will eventualy fade off.Comment

Re: I'm so depressed now...
If you're sad about anime you've watched you either need to toughen up or something else is causing you to be depressed...either way the internet cares...talk to your parents or friends or if you don't have those e-friends are good enough.Comment
