        TBH the general amount of garbage Windows picks up around the net is really too much to get rid of without just wiping it clear.

                I downloaded it, I hit run, and...!

                Nothing happens.

                Edit: I did it because I am still getting these popup windows that open random sites, some of which aren't even advertisements.

                        Delete all .dat files
                        And something else that i cant think off at the top of my head..

                        Oh yea and dont be a download whore and leave your desktop with 98982349892348028423408024898 files that you wont use (that applys to moving it into a folder).

                        This comp (currerntly using) hasnt been formatted ever and its still running at top speed (tyvm).. maybe i just kno how to take care of my sh!t.

                            Ever heard of system restore?

                            Restore your computer to an earlier date before you received the virus.

                            Go to Start<Help and Support<Undo changes to your computer with System Restore. Just restore to a week earlier or whenever you think you didn't have the virus at the time.

                            IMO it's a much better way to get rid of unwanted viruses/files/programs that are harmful to your pc without doing some random **** to get rid of it.

                                Get a goddamn AV that actually works properly people and if your not stupid about what you download then you'll be fine.
                                I warez pretty much everything on my computer and my computer is clean, going bad from old age but clean as a mofo, the last virus warning I got was for LOIC and BWraeper but well
                                Note: I'm not good with writing or speaking my thoughts/ideas, what i have written makes perfect sense to me but to you im not so sure. I apologise in advance.

                                It sounds like love is an amazing feeling. I guess its like dinosaurs, they sound amazing but I'm never gonna see one.

                                    Probably Adware more than destructive virus. Either way, your computer comes out of Standby due to activity being started on your desktop.

                                    I'm no expert with computers, but if you haven't done anything terribly important lately, I would system restore after deleting whatever you find. Just in case.
