But if I do have viruses, it's a moot point because in over two years they've never affected anything I've done. So, big deal.

I never use IE, haven't used it regularly for years. If Firefox ever ends up taking over the majority, I'll have to switch browsers because of all the hacks that will arise....

I guess now I won't be able to safely buy points for item mall in an MMO I play, as I can only buy the cards through IE. =(

But I think the site possibly might be fine, as the site managers are always out to alert players of hackers and keep game accounts safe. I'll probably stay safe in the end, to avoid losing money.

                RO? lol.

IE is notorious for this. Also, in my experience a lot of older people use an AOL browser.

Boy was I glad to see Chrome and FF weren't affected by this. They're all I use nowadays :/
But seriously, I was not aware of this whatsoever. I'll be sure to spread the word in my area.

No, TOP (Tales of Pirates) lmao. The site runs mainly through IE for uploading screenshots/photos/item mall. Firefox can run the site but it freezes when purchasing, for me at least. So it's problematic at this point.

Maybe I missed it, but... not much information was given on what the flaw actually is. It just says "There's a flaw and your password could get stolen." Kind of seems I've been hearing that for the past 8 years though; people always come out with some new malicious code on MySpace or whatever other networking site, and it's usually resolved pretty promptly. I don't see how this isn't a risk that has already supposedly been out there for years.

Anyone know anything more about it?

From what I remember, there is basically some code embedded on a lot of websites that, through IE, allows hackers or spyware or some crap to cause havoc in your computer. I'm certainly no expert, but that's the gist of the article.

I'm glad to notice this. Funnily enough, I had never installed Firefox till now; well, now I have an excuse to switch. Hopefully, I can become used to this slightly unfamiliar environment in time.

The biggest flaws of IE is that it always comes with your computer, is widely used on public computers, it's interface is cumbersome AND you can't get rid of it.

Ah, yeah, I figured something like embedded code was the case. People are always finding ways to embed viruses and whatnot using things like file extensions to their advantage. Thanks for adding that bit of info (I'm admittedly no expert either). This won't last, and I'm not even going to bother switching.

I do, I just automaticlly click it when I'm on the Laptop or PC. But I do try FF if IE decides to **** something up, like playing FFR.
