letseeee... I would press really hard on the bottom of the cup with the pole so it goes through the bottom and hits the ceiling, no spillage since I'm pushing up. This could probably be done, seeing as you got like 500 fluid ounces of adrenaline pumping in a near-death situation. There would be a bit of leakage from the new hole, lubricating the pole with a fresh coat of gas and lessening the amount in the cup. Since the pole is now lubricated, the cup would slide down within my reach, I would bring the cup down to the ground, take the pole out of the hole in the cup upwards (the cup is now on the ground so there is no more leakage.), then assuming that my safe area is more than 10 feet, I would lay the pole down and wait for it to dry, if it's not 10 feet, wave it in the air to dry. Then I would pick the pole up once it was dry again and wave out the fire in a pathway to the window and make an orderly exit.
Thing that might be in question here: The reaction to the pressing up on the mug. Would the whole bottom cave, or would the sides crack? Nothing could cause too much of a mess that would exit my safe area.

Hmm...the pole vault method would probably be the most suitable. Additionally, to reduce the possibility of uncontrolled spillage upon catching the cup, you could try fashioning a net out of your clothing. Had there been an additional restriction like "you're not allowed to put the cup on the ground," I would have suggested that if your window was particularly big, you could make further use of your garments by wrapping them around the cup to temporarily inhibit seepage on a subsequent throw (out the window). Otherwise (if the risk was too high), you would use a similar process, except that the bundle would be tied around the pole with the cup base perpendicular. In this case, the gasoline would first contact the fabric at roughly halfway through your vault, but if possible (assuming average absorption and permeability), leakage would take longer than what would be required for you to finish your escape.Comment

I felt like posting a mathematical riddle of my own. It's a relatively simple problem within the reach of anyone. No need to use calculus or anything of the sort.
Assuming a > b > 0, order the harmonic mean, the geometric mean, the arithmetic mean and the root mean square in a relation of inequality. (Exemple: HM < AM < RM < GM)
Harmonic mean: 2ab/(a+b)
Geometric mean: sqrt(ab)
Arithmetic mean: (a+b)/2
Root mean square: sqrt((a²+b²)/2)
Ordering the inequalities is easy, proving it is somewhat harder.Comment

i know its already been answered...but id just control-spill the cup directly in the middle of the room and make sure it doesnt spread to the fire then just WAIT for help
