Racism has shifted in the opposite direction. Many people were voting for Obama on the grounds that he would be the first Black president. A democrat probably would have won regardless (especially against McCain...), but Obama being Black helped him get even more votes.

A democrat should have one 4 years ago, too. I actually think if a republican hadn't run the economy into the ground that McCain might have won. But, even if I were a racist I'd vote for Obama. Regardless of skin color he still can probably do better for us than McCain.
