What just happened to my computer?

I was just browsing the frums when all of a sudden my internet closes on me. Does anybody know why this would happen out of nowhere?

If you're not using Firefox 3, you're beyond help.
If you are, read on.

Did you get any error windows after it crashed? If so, if there are instructions, follow them. Also try clearing out your cache, as that slows things down.

All the usual suspects really.

EDIT: Poochie - A connection issue would not necessarily close your browser, it would just cause pages to be unable to load and you'd keep getting "cannot connect to (site)" kind of messages.

You probably have a virus or hit Ctrl + W by mistake :P or Alt + F4

yeah, i wasnt sure if he said it quit and closed so i just assumed that the internet stopped working.

If a packet of memory got corrupted on it's way to or from your RAM then it would cause firefox to bug. If it was a major piece of information than it would cause it to crash without reason. ;D

Could you explain more?

Does your internet actually shut down or does your firefox, internet explorer or whatever browser close? Do you get an error message?
