Dont know if anyone has said this yet, but if this supercollider does kill us all, it will be by creating a Black Hole.

Therefore, it will take up to 4 years to DESTROY US ALL.

(p.s the chances if it making a black hole are in the .00000001 range, by the way)

A lot of fuss about this over nothing.

There's nothing to worry about. Of course the world isn't going to end. Mini black holes? IF, and it's a fairly big if, the LHC created mini blacks holes, they would be so insignificant the equivalent energy wouldn't light up a light bulb. It's also going to decay in a time period most of us would consider instantaneous. Also, people are unaware of this, but the Earth is being absolutely blasted, constantly, by particles from space that are exponentially more energetic than this. The energies associated with this machine are actually laughable in comparison to what happens naturally all the time, and has no real negative effects on us. Really, if we had anything to fear from this machine, the world would have been gone a long time ago.

edit: the LHC is only circulating a beam around the track tomorrow. The first collision won't be until the 21st of October, so all of the suckers out there have a bit more time left!
