    Google Finance: Practice Investing

So I just started doing this thing on Google where you can practice investing in stocks. No money involved, it's just to see how much you would have made or lost if you actually did invest in those company's.

I set my budget at 10k. It's pretty average for an investor.

I invested in Apple, and Imperial Oil Company.
    only went $300 over budget.

I am so screwed if Imperial drops.

So, if you want, try "investing", I would love to see what you "invest" in.

You can always take out small shares, and wait for them to rise..

True, but small shares (.80 - $2.00) tend to fail. Then you just lose money.

Hmm, what do you get out of this, play money? If so, I need more play money for Monopoly; fake bills suck compared to the real **** with that "play money" smell.

I was part of a team for Florida Virtual School for online investing It was a lot of fun, we ended up comming in 3rd overall in state. I use a site called SmartStocks (smartstocks.com). Similar enough to Google Finance I guess, they give you a preset amount of fake money, and you go to town with it. They use real life statisitcs and everyting too, you're just using fake money.

Also, holy **** you put everything into IMO. I've never actually heard of it, but I always stay away from oil stocks. Apple was a great choice though.
